No, Claude Is Not Posting 20 Times a Day to Your Instagram — Here’s What’s Actually Happening

I need to talk about something I just watched, because I guarantee some of you have seen a version of this same video and thought, “wait, am I missing something?”

You’re not missing anything. Someone’s overselling you.

The Pitch

There’s a guy with a screen full of posts. Says he’s putting out 20+ pieces of content a day across Facebook and Instagram, fully hands-off. Tells you to sign up for Claude, get the paid plan — $20 or $100 a month, his words — set up something called “Claude Code,” and DM him the word “code” so he can send you his step-by-step guide and a Zoom link.

He makes it sound like once it’s set up, you just type “make five more posts” and it goes out and does the rest. Posting included.

I use this thing every single day, across eight different brands. So let me actually tell you what’s real here.

What I Can Confirm Is True

Claude can absolutely help you build content fast. I do it constantly — captions, blog posts, carousel copy, even the images themselves. If you’ve got your brand info organized (what he’s calling a “project” isn’t some secret trick, it’s just a place to store your business details so the content doesn’t come out generic), the output gets noticeably better. That part checks out.

What Doesn’t Check Out

Claude does not post to Facebook or Instagram for you. Not on the free plan, not on the $20 plan, not on the $100 plan. There is no button, no setting, no autopilot mode where content gets written and published without a human touching “post.” Every single thing I’ve had written for my brands, I’m the one hitting publish.

“Claude Code” is not a content autoposter you DM someone to unlock. It’s a real tool — it’s built for coding, for developers working on software. Could someone technical wire something up that touches a social platform’s API? In theory, with real developer work and the platform’s own permissions — sure. That is a software project. That is not “download this, say the magic word, watch it post 20 times a day by dinner.”

Paying more doesn’t unlock a publishing pipeline. The plan tiers give you more usage. They don’t give you a hidden autoposting feature that only unlocks once you pay.

So what’s probably actually happening in that video? My guess: he’s doing the writing and prompting with Claude, then either posting manually or running it through an actual scheduler — Buffer, Later, Meta Business Suite, something built for that job — and the video just doesn’t show that part. Which, fine, everybody edits a demo. But leaving that step out changes the whole pitch.

Why I’m Calling This Out

I’ve been doing this for over 25 years. I’ve watched enough of these “I don’t even have to be smart, just DM me the word and pay me” pitches to know the pattern by now. It’s not that the tool is fake — it’s that the gap between “here’s a tool that helps you write faster” and “here’s a system that runs your entire social presence while you sleep” gets papered over, and that gap is usually where the money changes hands.

You deserve to know exactly where the line is. So here it is:

Claude writes it. You post it. That’s the real, current ceiling. It’s still a massive time-saver — I run eight brands off my phone because of exactly this. But it’s not the hands-off machine that video is selling, and nobody should pay $100 a month or DM a stranger expecting it to be.

If someone’s telling you an AI tool does something that sounds like magic, ask the one question that cuts through all of it: who’s actually clicking publish? If they can’t answer that clearly, you already have your answer.
